Zach, you're right, you're Dad was pretty rad. I posted all the photos I could find of him that I've taken over the last 5 years. The two near the bottom of the post are from last weekend when Pablo and your mom came to my sister's shower. Everybody that met him fell in love w/ him instantly. Know that he will forever be loved and missed.
To Pablo's family, I taught art lit with Pablo at Uplands and can confirm that the kids all loved his lessons. He was a gifted teacher and brought enthusiasm and 'coolness' to the classroom. The kids ate it up and were very engaged, even at the fourth grade level.
It seemed to me that happiness was written on his face. He will be missed by so many.

You were such an awesome guy, I looked up to you as my second dad. A lot of my skills I have today were learned from you, such as bombing down the mountain, surfing, and making a nice camp fire at the beach. My best memory of you, Zach, and I was at the beach this last summer. We went out with our golf clubs and played some nice beach golf and we lost all the gold balls (haha.) The very first time Zach and I hung out was in i think 5th grade, you took us to the 5 cent arcade in downtown Portland. I remember we watched the Incredibles, and hearing from Zach that your favorite car was the Volkswagen Bus. Well.. I just want to thank you so much for being a guy I could talk to about things, goof off with, and just being the awesome dad and friend you always were to me. I promise I will always be there for Zach. He is my best friend for life, no matter what. I love you.
Zach, you are definitely spot on. Your father was beyond rad...he was possibly the most positive person I've ever known and someone who always made us feel like nothing was impossible.
His smile and laugh were incredibly contagious and you should know that I think his face lit up even more (if that's possible) when he spoke about you.
Though I only worked with a Pablo a few years, his influence on me was immeasurable.
A few years back a group of us were attending a work related training session up in Seattle. At the end of a long day of training, we all went out to dinner, and I had the pleasure of riding in Pablo's car. We finished our meal, and a bunch of us piled back into the car. Before long, we realized we were stuck in suburban strip mall purgatory, and none of us knew how to get back to our hotel. As chaos and panic began to prevail within the vehicle, Pablo turned to us all, and with a straight, calm face he said, "don’t worry you guys, Miles will get us home". Pablo proceeded to reach into his glove box, and pulled out a Miles Davis CD. After inserting the CD, he said "Take us home Miles".
Yep, you said it Zach, your Dad was pretty rad!
Positive thoughts to all of Pablo's family and friends.
While at Lutris in Santa Cruz, there was this bright, honest hard working man. Never a showman, he was true and constantly radiated a silent something from his character of a calm humorous happiness that put you at ease with all of life whether at work or play.
I was so terribly sad to hear this news, so to the family, I can only hope this. Let time erode your pain so that Pablo's character emerges as a source of eternal joy and a blessed example of human being to cherish and guide your life.
Pablo this entry couldn’t possibly do justice to what you meant to me and countless others. I can still hear your laugh as if you’re in the room. Your attitude, sincerity and playfulness are things I’ll remember most about you. And you’ll never leave our hearts. Josh Bailey
Not a comment in the world could describe the impact you had on people's lives...We can only live now with what you have taught us and try to emulate your positive self. You will be missed my friend!

A silly Pablo memory that comes to mind:
